Constitution

The Mexican Studies Group (MSG) mission is to create an academic working group to gather Graduate Center students who are interested in Mexican Studies, broadly speaking. That is, to promote the study of Mexico either as a central point of reflection in their research, or as a secondary or related field of interest. Therefore, professional development, as it pertains to Mexican Studies as a field of inquiry, inside and outside the Graduate Center, would be one of the group’s mission. To achieve this, we plan to create a space where interdisciplinary and horizontal dialogue takes place, and where academic production in relation to Mexican Studies is triggered via grants, conferences, social networking, publishing projects, reading and writing workshops and intellectual discussion concerning the field.
